Did you know that October is breast cancer awareness month? Did you know that breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women in the United States? Finding breast cancer early is the BEST WAY TO CONTROL IT. I just met a new friend that said her mammogram saved her life! Because she had yearly mammograms, the screening identified a lump early enough to remove it and to treat it successfully! Mammograms can find cancer several years before a woman or her health care provider might discover it through other screening methods. It is also recommended to conduct regular clinical exams. The American Cancer Society recommends having a mammogram every year. I'm going out to get one this afternoon. Have you had yours yet?
